Polymer Arrester

Linkage arresters offer all the advantages of a metal oxide distribution arrester in a light-weight and smaller polymeric housing size designed for either indoor or outdoor overhead applications. Compare to porcelain housing arresters, the flexible polymeric one can resist the heavy vibrations caused by shipping, climate and earthquake and prevent it from broken. The arresters also have the superior transient overvoltage (TOV) and excellent overvoltage surge protection characteristics. During severe internal arc failure condition, other than the explosion of porcelain housing the polymeric one just split open to relieve the internal pressure. The ground lead disconnector allows arrester to automatically disconnect from the power system when an over current occurred. It also serves as an indication device that shows that the failed arrester requires a replacement. A 22 mm2 grounding lead composed of soft stranded copper wire is attached.
